Bounty Hunter

The Bounty Hunter is one of the 4 classes on the Imperial side of Star Wars: The Old Republic.  Not only a gun for hire, they are fiercely independent, following deep traditions .  They side with the Empire but hold little loyalty to them, taking out the high priced bounties the Empire provides them with.  Many are in it for the pay of the bounty, but most are in it for the glory of the hunt.

Advanced Classes:

As with every class, there are two advanced classes for the Bounty Hunter These are the Powertech and the Mercenary.

Being a Powertech you focus on having the newest prototypes of the heaviest armor.  You use flame throwers, rocket launchers, and will most likely wield a main hand gun.  You'll be able to focus on using your devices, and traps, or increasing the effectiveness or your armor with shielding in two specific trees within this advanced class.  This class can be DPS or a Main tank depending on which tree you decide to specialize in.

If you decide to be a Mercenary, you'll be a ruthless killer.  They specialize in damage or healing.  They equip state of the art blasters, and use their missiles to inflict massive damage to their target or heal their party.  Both of these Advanced Classes share a tree which increases damage done by their weapons.

Armor

Both advanced classes for the Bounty Hunter wear state of the art prototype armor.  Heavy but versatile, it tries to offer maximum protection from any type of attack while allowing easy movement.  Most likely the Powertech class will focus on the best of the best armor.

Weapons

While the Powertech class requires supreme armor, the Mercenary demands the highest quality of weapons.  While both classes require weapons, the Mercenary needs top damage to be effective.  Will these be available only from Operations, or will crafters be able to manufacture top quality weapons for aspiring Bounty Hunters?

Companions

Human - Mako
So far the Bounty Hunter class has two companions known to the public.  The first is Mako, which will most likely be the first companion we come across in game and will be made available at a low level.  She is a Slicer, which means she'll be able to work computer consoles.  She is also capable of being a healing companion.

Jawa - Blizz
As of E3 2011, another companion for the Bounty Hunter is Blizz.  A tiny Jawa that will be available to us on the planet Hoth at a later level.  He is a DPS companion, with abilities that allow him to dodge and shield himself.

It has been said as of right now, that each class will be allowed up to five companions during the game.  It has not been confirmed if we will be able to have more.

D5-Mantis Starship

Our mode of transportation through the stars is D5-Mantis.  Compact yet strong in a battle, it has numerous areas for weapons, making them dangerous in dog fights.  While on the ground, chasing down bounties, you'll be able to travel on several different designs of speeders.
