Smuggler

Smugglers are one of the four Republic classes in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Smugglers crave that sense of adventure tied in with a little bit of lawlessness. Being quick at the draw and having a dash of charm is a requirement as the Smuggler is never sure what might be waiting for him at the cargo drop. Having a handful of enemies isn't anything new, but the Smuggler has his priorities while he views and decides which opportunities to take on. Faced with the choice of allegiance, the Smuggler has “sided” with the Republic, and the Republic has more or less begrudgingly accepted the allegiance.

Field Reconnaissance
Smugglers are quick on their feet, and just as quick with their tongue. Images from surveillance cameras have caught the stealthy smugglers in the act. While careful, the Smuggler may not always be able to avoid detection – which is when their quick tongue comes into play. Depending on their abilities, the Smuggler may be able to bluff their way out of a sticky situation.

Advanced Classes

The Smuggler might have fast feet, but he has even faster fingers. With the Gunslinger specialization, your Smuggler will be able to dual wield blasters, making it rough for anyone trying to shoot him down. While an opponent is taking aim, the Gunslinger could injure him by taking out his legs, blind him, or inflict serious injuries.

Unlike the Gunslinger who is up for a “fair” fight, the Scoundrel doesn't care as long as he wins. Along with his blaster, the Scoundrel also carries a stealth belt, a scattergun, and a med pack. Whatever the Scoundrel needs, if he doesn't have it, he will improvise until he finds his way to safety.
Both Classes will share a tree: Dirty Fighting.  The skilled Smuggler will use his guns and sharp aim to leave his victims crippled and bleeding.

Outfitting
When your main abilities rely on being quick with your words and hiding in the shadows, there's no need for flashy armor or guns bigger than their forearms. Nonetheless, Smugglers wear a good light armor that has some custom modifications. Though they may not intend it, due to their light armor, the Smuggler tends to look as sleek as he is quick in the shadows.

Combat
As I'm sure you can guess, the Smuggler's fight tactics isn't exactly in your face. He is great at improvising and working the situation to benefit his odds. Using stealth, the Smuggler is likely to catch his opponent off guard. If need be, he can also hold his own in a fair fight as long as he remembers to be firm and fast with his blaster. As long as the Smuggler shoots first, there's a good chance he'll be the only one walking away.

Companions

Wookiee - Bowdaar
Bowdaar is a Wookiee warrior who has fought in every death-match arena you can think of – and he's never been defeated. Rancors, gundarks, Mandolorians, and even a Jedi have fallen at his feet during single combat fights. Unlike any human, Bowdaar is content fighting with his bare hands and without the benefit of armor. Whispers among the underworld talk about him being an immortal, while others know that he is simply “the best”.

Starship XS Freighter

As you might imagine, the Smuggler prefers the Freighter. The classic Freighter has advanced since the days of the Jedi Civil war. It's large and light, moving throughout the stars the way a Smuggler moves through the shadows. With a variety of upgrades, this ship boasts being one of the fastest and nimble in the galaxy.
