Dev Updates: Comic-Con Edition

So it was obvious that a few people were interested on any information about the Comic-Con. The people roared in anticipation, the Dev's eventually answered. While they couldn't give away all the details, here are a few of the snippets Dev David shared with us.

Yesterday, BioWare announced that there was space at the Hilton Gaslamp hotel across the street from the convention. The post was directed to the BioWare fans waiting to hear news for Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age II DLC. Though, as we all know, SWTOR is planning on being there as well, and the Hilton is open to any of us as long as there are rooms available.

If you have Comic-Con badges, David assured us that the game would be playable on the show floor too. He then reiterates that the primary goal of conventions is to get as many people playing as possible at these events, and the best way that they feel they can do that is to extend the experience outside of the Comic-Con floor.

Will you get to play if you go? There's no guarantee.

Will there be long lines? Yes, most likely.

Will they try to make sure you have an enjoyable experience no matter what? Well, they'll try.

The current plan is to be open during each day of the Comic-Con, and possibly extend beyond just the show floor hours. However, plans are subject to change, and there's still hints of “more to come”.

So not a lot of information. If you're going, do you know where you'll be staying?

Dev Update : Release Date Notes

We all have our guesses about when SWTOR will be out, we like to guess that it'll be sometime at the end of August.  Today, Dev Stephen made sure to let us know that quality is much more important than a specific release date. He did however say that it is expected to launch in the second half of 2011. Once available, information for the release and pre-order will be made available.

Anything in this thread posted by Forum members is speculation and not fact. The thread will stay open until we announce a final release date.

Dev Stephen also rocked out a lot of Q&A from some people who have been in beta testing. Check out : Beta Tester: I have a secret. I've been playing SWTOR
